Experience and Expertise:
For more than 18 years, Barbara has excelled as an executive in human resources. Her work focuses on human resources and training consulting to support organizations as they build talent, create intentional cultures, and drive business results. Her experience includes leading the human resource initiatives for Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Inc. and serving as president, lobbyist, and spokesperson for a professional association of educators. As Vice President of Human Resources for Krispy Kreme, she was a member of the management team that propelled the company from a private, regional doughnut maker to a publicly traded, international brand. She had oversight responsibility for all human resource functions as well as training and crisis management. Barbara successfully recruited the right people and created systems and programs to support Krispy Kreme's phenomenal growth. She also developed a process that translates corporate strategy and the vision for corporate culture to employees, which strengthens the employment relationship and creates accountability for business results. Selected speaking engagements include the NC Banking Association, National Restaurant Association Marketing Conference, Web Based Training 2001, Training 2002, and the International Society for Performance Improvement (Carolinas Chapter).
Barbara serves on the Board of Advisors for Handshaw (an e-learning/software company in Charlotte), the Public Relations Commission of the Moravian Church (Southern Province), the Sunnyside Ministry Program Board, and on the Board of Directors and chairs the Personnel Committee for the Children's Museum of Winston-Salem.
Education, Special Training and Certifications:
I want to let you know how much professionally and personally I have enjoyed working with Barbara. She has been a great person to work through difficult issues and has been a great sounding board for me professionally. The way she addresses difficult situations head-on has been a great value to Technology Crops.
