With over twenty years of human resource experience, Mel Asbury has worked and consulted with Fortune 500 companies. Working with all types of employees at varying levels of management, Asbury’s focus includes HR professional development, diversity issues, conflict management, outdoor experiential team building, Total Quality Management, business coaching and career development for minority and women managers. His experience encompasses mergers and acquisitions, startups, organizational redesign projects, and other innovative HR programs. In 2003, Asbury was named the SHRM North Carolina "Human Resource Professional of the Year".

Mr. Asbury obtained his business coaching certification through UNC/Duke University, an undergraduate degree in business from NC Central University and a Masters in Industrial Relations from Purdue University. He has conducted research in race relations and its impact on unionization attempts.
