The Résumé Commandments

Thanks to Marilyn Honeycutt, SPHR,
an HR Group trainer and presenter,
for these key points to consider
as you look at updating your résumé.
They're not written in stone, of course,
but offer good rules of thumb for
producing a professional document
that will open doors in today's job market.
Thou shalt not write about your past; thou shalt write about your future!
Thou shalt not confess.
Thou shalt not write job descriptions; thou shalt write achievement statements.
Thou shalt not write about stuff you don't want to do again.
Thou shalt say less rather than more.
Thou shalt not write in paragraphs, thou shalt use bullet points.
Thou shalt not lie.
